The aircraft, according to the corporation, are being created on the basis of the long-haul wide-body passenger Il-96-400M (which never went into mass production due to the lack of demand, customers-buyers - S. B.). The Voronezh Aircraft Building Plant is already engaged in experimental design work.

But after all, work on new air command posts was reported back in 2016 - 5 years ago. Naturally, at the same time funds were allocated, the most important military facility was financed. Where and what did those years go and, probably, that money - history is silent.

However, there was news. We can say from yesterday, from December 2020. Very unpleasant, scandalous, shameful, but at the same time familiar to our reality.

Now, as indicated in open sources, we have four air command posts, designed back in Soviet times on the basis of the Il-86. One of them was put for repair in Taganrog, at an enterprise that is officially called the "aviation scientific and technical complex". And some malefactors entered the Main Air Command Post of the Russian Federation and broke down and stole 39 electronic devices. How? To enter the plane (at first - to a closed military airfield), you need to know the system perfectly, this is not a door lock that can be cut with a grinder saw or rolled off with a crowbar. And it takes a lot of time for such an operation to properly dismantle everything. Again, you need to know how to do it, what to take. This means that “ours” probably participated. Why do they need these blocks? Perhaps the fact is that on many Products (as they are called at the enterprises of the Military-Industrial Complex) contacts are made of precious metals. Perhaps in light of the previous five years, as well as last year's kidnapping scandal, the current news of the CCS was not as violent and bravura as before. The press was enthusiastically broadcasting: "Russia is armed with a Yom Kippur aircraft", "A new generation of Yom Kippur planes will appear in Russia", "Real Doomsday weapons" ".
