From now on, corruption suspects are not only deprived of the opportunity to buy real estate in America, but can also be arrested, anywhere, anytime, and extradited to the United States.

The White House has published an Anti-Corruption Strategy. It has five points.

1️. Deeper coordination of all branches of government on the issue of combating corruption, including through the collection and analysis of intelligence data on corrupt actors and their networks, strengthening the resource base of law enforcement agencies and intensifying the exchange of information between the intelligence community and the security forces.

2. Eliminating gaps in US financial legislation to prevent money laundering and other illegal practices, in particular through the acquisition of real estate. Over the past five years, $ 2.3 billion has been laundered in this market in the United States.

It is estimated that foreigners control up to 40% of the total dollar volume of real estate in the United States, and the most popular method has become opaque limited liability companies (LLC), which do not report on the ultimate beneficiaries.

3. Unification of national legislation. This will help hold those involved in international corruption accountable, direct efforts to protect civil institutions and media representatives who expose corruption, and involve partner countries in identifying and suppressing bribery.

4. Protecting and strengthening the multilateral anti-corruption architecture - interaction within the G20 and G7, as well as the entry of the United States into new and existing initiatives.

5. Improving bilateral diplomatic interaction and the use of partners' resources to achieve the goals of anti-corruption policy, as well as providing assistance to other countries in the implementation of anti-corruption measures.

As you know, the anti-corruption strategy will be discussed at the Summit for Democracy, where 110 countries were invited. China, Russia and Hungary were left uninvited.

Economist Nikita Krichevsky answered the question on his channel: what do these measures mean for Russia?

“The fact that the Americans are always incomprehensible lay, but always hard to sleep.

Let's try to decipher. It means that:

- the US intelligence services will be empowered to monitor all types of communication of suspected corruption around the world, for example, via WhatsApp, YouTube or Skype;

- the long-term practice of acquiring real estate in the United States, with rare exceptions, comes to an end, and the LLC, if they remain, will be forced to disclose the beneficiaries. Even if Russian property owners did not steal from the budget and did not take bribes, they still did not pay taxes either in Russia or anywhere else;

- suspects of corruption can be arrested, anywhere, anytime and extradited to the United States, who have always been quick to issue arrest warrants;

- investigators of corruption, both from public institutions and from the media, can be provided with protection similar to the program for the protection of witnesses;

- it is better for our corrupt officials to sit at home and not shine, that is, corruption in Russia will become more concentrated and structured.

Anti-corruption life in the world is just beginning..."
