Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced a shortage of doctors in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. "There are no free specialists in medicine in Russia, by Monday it is necessary to prepare instructions on sending students of 4-5 courses of medical schools to practice," he said.

The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, who also heads the All-Russian working group of the State Council on countering the spread of coronavirus, announced a shortage of doctors during a meeting of the presidium of the government’s coordinating council to combat the spread of this infection.

“Obviously, we will need additional personnel to ensure all this work. There are no free personnel, it’s also pointless to drag from one region to another ...”, the Moscow mayor said. In his opinion, senior students already have sufficient knowledge and motivation and are able to provide patients with assistance at a decent level, RIA Novosti reports .

A week ago, Sergei Sobyanin said that the Ministry of Defense has already provided assistance to civilian doctors who treat the capital’s patients with the coronavirus COVID-19. Twenty military medical teams were sent to Moscow hospitals.

The number of people who have developed over the past 24 hours throughout Russia has increased by 5.8 thousand people, of which 2.9 thousand in Moscow. The total number of cases so far has reached 68.6, of which 36.9 thousand are residents of the capital. During the entire spread of the disease, 615 patients died from coronavirus, 5.5 thousand patients recovered.
