In St. Petersburg, a passenger was detained who hit a subway controller for asking him to wear a protective mask.

It is reported by Interfax, citing an informed source.

The incident took place at the Narvskaya station on Thursday morning. According to the interlocutor of the agency, the controller was at the turnstiles and made a comment to one of the passengers, asking him to put on a medical mask. In response, the passenger punched the controller in the face. The victim needed hospitalization, but he was soon released on an outpatient basis.

On the evening of the same day, police detained the suspect. A criminal case was opened against him under the article on the beatings. He had previously been convicted of theft. Currently, a citizen does not work anywhere.

We recall that in May 12 a mandatory mask regime was introduced in St. Petersburg. Wear personal protective equipment prescribed on the streets, in vehicles and in public places. Moreover, kits with masks and gloves can be purchased at subway stations.
