SIF: benefits for children under one and a half years old will be at least 6,752 rubles

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which, starting June 1, the minimum monthly allowance for caring for children up to one and a half years in the country has increased to 6,752 rubles.

These payments will be made from Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation funds to working parents and other relatives on maternity leave.

It is noted that in order to apply for benefits, it is necessary to take parental leave at work. Also, payments can be received when switching to part-time or remote work, but only on condition that most of the day will be spent on caring for the baby.

After signing the law, the list of documents that need to be submitted for processing payments has changed. The parent or other parent involved in the upbringing must provide a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate, as well as a certificate of employment of the second parent, which will confirm that he is no longer on maternity leave and has not made out payments in his name. These changes entered into force on June 1 of this year.

It is noted that if the care allowance has already been issued earlier, then from the beginning of this month the amount will automatically increase. No additional papers are required.

According to experts, in Russia the amount of childcare benefits paid each month for insured persons amounts to forty percent of the average earnings calculated for the two years preceding the year of the onset of parental leave.

If the parent completing the allowance has been working for less than two years, then the earnings for calculation are taken equal to the minimum wage. Moreover, the allowance cannot be less than 6752 rubles.
