The restrictive measures will have to be introduced in Russia again in connection with the threat of the spread of a new coronavirus infection if citizens do not observe a social distance and other rules, said a spokeswoman for the World Health Organization (WHO) Melita Vujnovich.

“If the physical distance is not respected, but with this number it is possible, if the quantuty of the cases start to grow, there simply will not be another way”, - RIA Novosti quotes the words of the WHO representative.

She pointed out that quarantine prohibitions would still be in act until an effective coronavirus vaccine appears in the world. Earlier, the Russians were informed that they can count on the returning to their normal life only after the appearance of an effective drug against COVID-19, by the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko.

Melita Vujnovich invited the Russians to prepare for the return of the bans.

"We must be prepared for this. It’s better to let it be earlier, you don’t have to wait until the virus spreads even more. The fire must be extinguished while it is small”, - she warned.

Only by observing the safety measures, Vuynovich pointed out, it will be possible to avoid the second wave of the pandemic.

Let us recall that other countries began to return to quarantine due to the second wave. For example, in Israel, the authorities were forced to reintroduce restrictions - the country has seen a sharp increase in the number of cases of contracting the infection.

In Russia the number of detected cases of the new coronavirus infection per day increased by 6509 and amounted in total to 707 301. Most of all the new cases were recorded in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sverdlovsk region.
