At least 32 sailors of a Russian fishing vessel docked in the South Korean city of Busan tested positive for the new coronavirus. In total there are 94 crew members on the quarantined ship.

The agency Yonhap reported this, citing the representatives of the local department that is responsible for health. According to them, over the past two months, the South Korean authorities have recorded 78 cases of a new coronavirus infection on eight ships flying the Russian flag.

Earlier, the Russian Consulate in the Republic of Korea reported that the coronavirus was detected in 22 crews of Russian ships that are moored in the port of Busan. Representatives of the diplomatic mission noted that it has not yet been possible to identify the source of the spread of the virus among sailors.

To the date, 13,979 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in South Korea. 12,817 patients recovered. 298 people died.
