- We decided to create a fund for help. But its creation could take up to four months. We made a different decision, hired lawyers. The money will go to pay for the lawyers, - said the sister of Sergey Furgal, explaining that "at the moment the family is not able to pay for these services, since the accounts have been arrested".
She promised to regularly report on donations and expenses.
Earlier, the investigation dismissed two lawyers for Sergey Furgal, Marina Gorbachyova and Maxim Samoilov, because of a "conflict of interest" between two accused in the case, Furgal and his business partner Nikolay Mistryukov.
Let us note that earlier, a member of the Public Monitoring Commission, Eva Merkachyova, appealed to residents of the Khabarovsk Territory with a request not to transfer more money to Sergey Furgal to an account in a pre-trial detention center.
- He was transferred so much money that now there is no need to do it anymore. Believe me, he will not be able to spend these money during his stay in the pre-trial detention center. He has enough funds to make purchases. Unfortunately, the assortment in Lefortovo is very scarce, you can not buy too much, - explained the Public Monitoring Commission member.
She also said that the ex-governor receives parcels, but does not receive parcels. Why they didn’t make it, Public Monitoring Commission didn’t manage to figure it out.
Let us remind you that Sergey Furgal was detained on July 9 on suspicion of organizing murders and attempted murder 15 years ago.
Since July 10, rallies in support of the ex-governor have been held daily in the Khabarovsk Territory. Khabarovsk residents are supported in many cities of the Far East and outside the macroregion. On July 29, the rallies changed their format for the first time - in addition to the traditional procession along the central streets, protesters in boats blocked Amur.
Meanwhile, Sergey Furgal has become one of the top politicians to be trusted. According to a poll by the Levada Center, the Khabarovsk official was in seventh place, beating oppositionist Alexey Navalny, former head of government Dmitry Medvedev, Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin, State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and head of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko.
