Three generals of the Investigative Committee resigned

The heads of four departments of the IC have lost their posts, including the heads of the investigative departments in the Krasnodar Territory and the Irkutsk Region. They all wrote resignation reports of their own free will.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, by his decree, dismissed four heads of directorates of the IC, three generals and one colonel, RBC reports, citing a source in the IC and an interlocutor close to the department.

Major General of Justice Sergey Vazyulin (pictured), the head of the Moscow Interregional Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Transport, who had worked in investigative bodies since 1999, resigned at his own request.

Major General of Justice Andrey Bunev, head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Irkutsk Region, also wrote a letter of resignation. He worked from 1988 in the prosecutor's office, headed the IC department in the region in 2013. Lieutenant General of Justice Vadim Bugaenko, who headed the department of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory, who had worked in the prosecutor's office since 1996, left his post.

Colonel Rif Gayfutdinov, head of the Main Directorate for Supporting the Activities of the UK, also wrote a report. He headed the department in 2018, and previously headed the department manager of this unit.

Earlier, the media learned that the head of the investigative committee of the FSB department, Mikhail Shishov, is leaving his post and retiring after a corruption scandal in the department, when he extorted a bribe worth 65 million rubles. In bitcoins, the former general director of the FSUE Izvestia Publishing House, Erast Galumov, accused of fraud, got two FSB investigators.
