Investigative Committee completed the investigation of the case against the policemen who arrested Ivan Golunov

This was reported to Interfax by the lawyer of one of the accused. After the completion of the investigation, the case materials will be transferred to the victim and the defense for review.

Earlier it was noted that the indictment does not contain the person who ordered the crime , although this version was worked out during the investigation. The journalist himself demanded to find the initiator of the criminal prosecution. Investigators continue to believe that career advancement as well as selfish motives were the motivation for the crime. Golunov himself believes that the criminal prosecution was related to his work.

Golunov was detained in June last year. He was suspected of selling drugs. They found illegal substances with him, which, as it turned out later, were planted by the police themselves. The Golunov case received a wide public response, the Russians protested in support of the arrested journalist, demanding to stop planting drugs on people, the journalist was released.

In January this year, criminal cases were opened against the police officers who took part in the arrest of the journalist and their leader. Golunov passes through them as a victim. Earlier, Golunov said that he would file a lawsuit with a request to pay him compensation for the illegal arrest of five million rubles . He intends to donate this money to charity.
