We remind that protest actions have been going on in Belarus since August 9. Citizens oppose the results of the presidential elections, in which, according to official data, Alexander Lukashenko won with 80% of the vote. Lukashenko's victory raised serious doubts not only among Belarusian citizens, but also in the European Union - some countries refused to recognize the results of the vote.
Earlier it was reported that military equipment was moving towards the border with Belarus. Eyewitnesses indicated that they were observing convoys of military vehicles without numbers on the E95 and M1 highways. It was also said that trucks of the National Guard without identification marks were driving along Russian federal highways.
Note that Lukashenka announced his readiness to attract Russian military assistance in case of aggravation of the situation in the republic. The Russian side agreed to provide such assistance only in the presence of an "external threat".
