Weapon stores began to close or redesignate to sell the goods for which the license is not necessary.

Good news for all the pacifists is reported by the Okhotniki.ru website: arms trade is declining not only in the provincial cities of the country, but also in both capitals. The publication calls the state policy the reasons for this state of affairs.

So during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, a 2-month ban on the arms trade caused terrible damage to gun shops. Moreover, the owners had to pay rent and wages, and there was no question of compensation from the state. No sooner had things straightened out than a pandemic and a new ban broke out, and again without help. In addition, citizens who have already paid for a purchase license - 1,400-2,000 rubles, but could not redeem weapons in quarantine, now having lost their license - their validity period has expired. But whether they will receive new ones is a big question.

As a result, stores are losing customers and closing or re-profiling to new markets.

The publication states that it is very difficult to overcome the restrictions and prohibitions on weapon shops, since the arms trade is very difficult and not at all super-profitable. Journalists propose to introduce a new database on the movement of weapons from manufacturer to consumer, which will significantly simplify control over the trade in them, and also make it possible to buy them remotely. This measure will serve as a good stimulus for the revival of the industry.
