The minister told El Universal that the third phase of clinical trials of the vaccine will begin in September.
“We have been negotiating with them (the Russians) for some time now, and yesterday Mexico was asked to receive at least 2,000 doses of the vaccine... to start testing it in Mexico, and this is very good news”, - said Ebrard (quoted by Interfax).
Note that four more vaccines are already being tested in Mexico: two Chinese, American and Anglo-French.
Earlier, Ebrard reported that the Latin American country is ready to participate in the final phase of trials of the Russian drug from COVID-19.
Let us remind you that Sputnik V was registered on August 11. At the same time, the Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers appealed to the Ministry of Health in order to postpone the registration of the vaccine, since the tests performed are not enough. In the West, the Russian drug, presented as a breakthrough in the field of medicine, was also viewed with skepticism.
