- Alexander Grigorievich asked me to form a certain reserve of the law enforcement officers. And I did it, - said Putin in an interview with Sergey Brilyov ( quoted by Kommersant).
The President pointed out that the reserve will not be used until the situation gets out of control, “until extremist elements, hiding behind political slogans, start robbery, start setting fire to the cars, houses, banks, try to seize administrative buildings, and so on”.
Putin expressed confidence that now there is no need to use Russian forces in Belarus.
“In a conversation with Alexander Grigorievich, we came to the conclusion that there is no such need now, and, I hope, it will not be, and therefore we do not use this reserve”, - the head of state noted.
Earlier, Lukashenko, after one of his telephone conversations with Putin, announced that Russia agreed to provide comprehensive assistance at the first request to ensure the security of Belarus. It was then about possible external threats.
Prior to that, eyewitnesses reported on the movement of military equipment from the Russian side in the direction of the Belarusian borders. They talked about the trucks of the National Guard without numbers, inside which there were people in black uniforms without insignia.
Let us remind you that protest actions are taking place in Belarus against the official results of the presidential vote. They began immediately after the closure of polling stations, on 9 August. According to official data, Lukashenko won a victory with 80% of the votes. Citizens believe that the election results were falsified - in support of these words, proven facts of violations in some polling stations are cited. A number of foreign countries also refused to recognize the results of the presidential elections in Belarus.
