Roscosmos did not have enough components to launch the Resurs-P satellites

The launch of the Resurs-P satellites into orbit was postponed due to the lack of components. The Director General of the Progress Rocket and Space Center (part of Roscosmos) Dmitry Baranov does not undertake to predict the launch date.

"The fourth and fifth Resurs-P are postponed due to the lack of a number of components supplied by the external enterprises... I would not predict anything in terms of launch dates", - Kommersant quotes Baranov's words.

At the same time, the fourth satellite is almost ready for electrical tests at the control and test station. The fifth will be ready, according to the expert, early next year.

Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that the launch of the satellite was postponed from November 2020 to 2021. Roskosmos did not comment on information on delays in the production of the spacecraft.

Resurs-P is a civil spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth. Such satellites are used to study natural objects, monitor environmental pollution, water protection and nature reserves. It was Resurs-P that captured the polluted rivers and the glacial lake Pyasino after the accident at the Norilsk CHP-3.
