A young Minsk resident Daniil, who works as an ambulance paramedic, told in a video blog how on the evening of August 10, he and his colleagues tried to help protesters beaten by Belarusian OMON officers.
“There were various injuries, shrapnel wounds, craniocerebral trauma, burns...”, - the young man testifies.
The next day, when Daniil had a day off, impressed by what he had seen the day before, he decided at his own risk and risk to continue providing first aid to the protesters already as a volunteer - since the people did not leave the streets of Minsk. Daniel packed his first-aid kit and went into the thick of things, however, as soon as he tried to start his work, men in black seized him and beat him almost without interruption for the next few days: “Oh, you are a medic,” and a blow to the face. Further - the police department, yellow paint, filming, beatings with truncheons: "You treat people, and then they go on to fight".
According to Daniel, he was beaten so that he could not stand on his feet.
"They just asked the questions "Who pays you", "Where did you get your medicines", and at the same moment they beat..."
