Greece will open borders to Russians on August 7

In the official gazette of the Greek authorities, a decree has been published "Application of controlled entry measures, selective laboratory control and temporary restrictions for permanent residents of the Russian Federation in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19".

Recall that the airports of Greece began to receive international flights on July 1. Russia was not included in the list of states whose citizens were allowed to enter.

The current decree is valid from 00:01 hours on September 7 to 23:59 hours on September 21 (the time coincides with Moscow).

According to the document, up to half a thousand Russians will be able to visit the country per week and only through the airports of Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraklion. A negative lab test for covid must be in English. Only tests taken 72 hours before the flight are valid.

- Airlines are obliged to check this certificate before boarding a passenger, and in case of its absence, prohibit boarding. In case of violation of this obligation, they are obliged to repatriate the passenger at their own expense, the Greek government said in a statement.

The day before arriving in the country, Russians will need to fill out an electronic PLF form, indicating their contact information in Greece.

“They must have a hotel booking receipt or other relevant documents that define their temporary residence in the country”, - warn tourists.

When conducting a random test for coronavirus, you will not be allowed to leave your place of temporary residence until the results are ready. In case of violation of this rule, you will have to pay a fine of five thousand euros - 439 thousand rubles.

Let's remind that from today Poland is ready to open its borders for the citizens of the Russian Federation. Russia was not included in the list of 46 countries for which the state will remain closed for now.

It should be noted that Hungary, which previously began to let foreigners in, again introduces restrictions on entry.
