The Ministry of Labor proposes to make the weekend in the new year from 1 to 10 January. The ministry has prepared a draft on the postponement of working days, which will be under discussion until September 22.

“In order for employees to use weekends and holidays rationally, we propose to postpone the next weekend - January 2 to November 5, and January 3 to December 31”, - reads the document. In addition, it is proposed to move Saturday February 20 to Monday February 22.

Thus, next year, Russians will be able to rest from January 1 to 10, from February 21 to 23, and from March 6 to 8. In May, non-working will be from 1 to 3 May and from 8 to 10 May. Also, the days off next year will be June 12-14, November 4-7 and December 31.

Earlier, the ministry discussed how to make December 31 a non-working day. This year it will not be possible to make a day off on this day due to labor legislation, the Ministry of Labor explained. According to it, the Russians must rest at least 42 hours after the working week. According to Aleksey Zubets, Director of the Institute of Social and Economic Research of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, on December 31, and so in many companies there is a day off, or a reduced working day - all employees are in a pre-holiday state and no longer work at full capacity. The ministry has promised to make this day a day off next year.
