Maria Kolesnikova, a member of the Presidium of the Coordinating Council of the Opposition of Belarus, who is suspected of calling for the seizure of power, faced threats of physical harm, her lawyer Lyudmila Kazak said.

According to her, there are bruises on Kolesnikova's body, and in the pre-trial detention center she needed medical assistance.

- Maria also faced threats of physical violence, which, being in the building of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, could not perceive except as real. Maria also intends to file applications on the facts of death threats, - TASS reports the words of the lawyer, cited by the press service of the headquarters of the former candidate for the presidency of Belarus Viktor Babariko.

Who exactly threatened Kolesnikova is not said.

Kazak claims that there are bruises on the body of a member of the Constitutional Court presidium, her hands ache, as she was pushed into the car and held by force,

and in the pre-trial detention center she received medical assistance due to heart problems.

Kazak intends to apply to the investigator with a request for a forensic medical examination.

Kolesnikova herself is sure that she was kidnapped.

“Kolesnikova regards the events of the last days as kidnapping - a serious criminal offense, and together with her lawyer she intends to draw up appeals so that all those responsible for her abduction and forcible removal to the borders are identified”, - the message says.

The lawyer is awaiting interrogation of Kolesnikova, which may take place today.

We will remind that earlier it became known that Kolesnikova and two of her associates - members of the Constitutional Court - tried to cross the border with Ukraine. Later it turned out that Kolesnikova was being held in Minsk jail # 1 - the so-called "Pishchalovsky Castle". This is the only place in Europe where people on death row are still being shot.

Note that another leader of the Belarusian opposition Maksim Znak was also detained. Thus, the Coordination Council of the Opposition of Belarus was actually neutralized . Only the Nobel Prize laureate in literature Svetlana Aleksievich remained at large and within the republic.

After the presidential elections in Belarus on August 9, the next victory of Alexander Lukashenko, who has ruled the republic since 1994, was again announced. This led to a serious political crisis: for a month in Belarus, massive protests and strikes have been taking place every day, which the security forces have again begun to disperse.
