The plane was urgently landed in Omsk, the politician spent two days in a hospital in this city, then it was taken to Germany.
“Exactly a month has passed since they tried to kill me with a chemical warfare agent”, Alexey Navalny himself said in his blog. Two independent laboratories in France and Sweden and special laboratory of the Bundeswehr confirmed the presence of Novichok in and on my body. However, none of this exists in Russian political and legal reality. There are talk shows here, where they tell either that no one had poisoned me, or that, of course, they poisoned me, but it was either FBK employees or Western intelligence officers who did it... There is no criminal case in Russia, but there is a "pre-investigation check on the fact of hospitalization".
One thing interests me now: my clothes. Namely, the clothes I was wearing on the day of the poisoning. 30 days of "pre-investigation check" were used to hide this crucial piece of evidence. Before they were allowed to take me to Germany, they took off all my clothes and sent me completely naked".
Alexei Navalny added that since traces of Novichok were also found on the surface of his body, there is reason to believe that he was poisoned with this poison through his clothes, and therefore it is possible to establish through which particular item of clothing this happened. At the same time, the month that relies on the pre-investigation check has passed and he insists on the return of his wardrobe, packed in a plastic bag. He rejects the version that his illness is not associated with poisoning.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced that Alexey Navalny was poisoned with a chemical warfare agent from the Novichok group. Experts from laboratories in Sweden and France came to the same conclusions based on the politician's analyzes. The Russian authorities deny the version of the poisoning, Omsk doctors who treated Alexey Navalny speak of an exacerbation of chronic diseases. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov previously confirmed Russia's readiness to interact with Germany on the situation with Alexey Navalny, but noted that Berlin had not yet given answers to the previously sent official requests. On September 9, German media reported that Germany had transferred the results of Alexey Navalny's research to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and did not see the need to transfer them directly to Russia.
The Novichok chemical warfare agent first became known after the poisoning in the UK of ex-GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in March 2018. The British authorities blamed Russia for the assassination attempt. Moscow denies these accusations, - reminds the Interfax news agency.
Alexey Navalny also noted that he owes much of his recovery to his wife Yulia. It was she who insisted on transporting it to Germany, organizing the flight on a specially equipped plane. And in the Berlin hospital "she came, talked to me, sang me songs, turned on the music. I won't lie - I don't remember anything... I'm lying. I was already taken out of a coma, but I don't recognize anyone, I don't understand what's going on. I say and I don’t know what to say. And all my pastime is that I’m waiting for Her to come... No matter how cool scientific and medical explanation sounds, now I know for sure just from my own experience: love heals and returns to life. Julia, you saved me, and let it be written in the textbooks on neurobiology".
