After the earthquake near Irkutsk 360 houses remained without electricity

After the earthquake in the Irkutsk region 40 apartment buildings and 320 private houses of townspeople remained without electricity in Slyudyanka. The electricity in the houses was turned off almost immediately after the disaster began, but it has not yet been restored, the timing of the connection is not announced.

Two earthquakes occurred in the Irkutsk region on Monday. Powerful tremors were felt in 12 districts of the region. High alert was introduced in Irkutsk. The magnitude of the earthquake was felt at 5-6 here. The epicenter of the disaster fell 15 kilometers from the village of Kultuk, the magnitude there reached 5.9, according to the regional Ministry of Emergencies.

The Emergencies Ministry added that the earthquake affected 367 settlements in the Irkutsk region. In each locality, a special group will be created to assess the consequences of the incident for the private sector and the regional budget. The department noted that there is no visual destruction in Irkutsk, Angarsk, Shelekhovo, Slyudyanka and Usolye-Sibirskoye, the communal facilities there are operating normally.
