The leaders of the religious organization "Church of the Last Testament" in the Krasnoyarsk Territory were detained by security officials. The leader of the organization, Vissarion, aka Sergei Torop (pictured), was also detained.

“Vissarion himself and two other leaders of the religious organization named the Church of the Last Testament were detained", - an informed source told Interfax.

In February, representatives of the New Testament Church announced that the community was being searched by investigators in the framework of criminal cases of corruption and fraud against the leadership of Istoki, where children of community members study.

Also in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a criminal case was opened after the journalists of Izvestia, preparing a report on the community, were attacked by the members of this community, their mobile phones and equipment were taken away.

Earlier, REN TV also became interested in the complaint of a former parishioner, who gave the sect a large sum of money after the sale of an apartment in Moscow. As a result, she lost her home and job, and her son's mind was damaged.

Let us recall that Vissarion had previously stated that Jesus Christ was watching him from near-earth orbit, and then he began to identify himself with Christ. In 1991, he conducted the first sermon, then with funds raised by his followers, he went to preach around the country. In 2000, during the All-Russian anti-terrorist operation "Whirlwind-Antiterror" among members of the Vissarion sect, FSB officers detained Tatyana Nekhorosheva-Sokolova, who was on the federal wanted list on suspicion of organizing a terrorist act near the public reception office of the FSB in Moscow in 1998.
