A spontaneous gathering took place yesterday in the village of Krasnoarmeyskoye in the suburb of Makhachkala, where about 4,000 people of different nationalities live.

About 300 local residents protested against the start of construction on lands that they consider to be theirs. 20 people were detained, two were wounded, many of the participants in the gathering were injured.

“It all started with the construction work on the site on the border with the neighboring village of Semender, which local residents consider to be theirs by law. In order to prevent this from being prevented by local residents, Rosgvardia officers were lined up along the perimeter of the site. police cars drove up", - the Dagestani edition Chernovik reports.

During the confrontation, someone started throwing stones at the Rosguards, in response they began firing into the air from a traumatic weapon, and then dispersed the audience with tear gas and batons, and used stun guns, Radio Svoboda notes. When the crowd began to scatter, mass detentions began, including breaking into the houses of local residents. Local residents complain that they even beat up a disabled person who was moving in a wheelchair.

The conflict situation in the village is an echo of the Stalinist deportations of peoples. It was formed because of the lands, which, according to local residents, the authorities promised to give to migrants from Chechnya. In 1944, residents of the Dagestan village of Verkhniye Ubeki were resettled to Chechnya, in 1957 they were allowed to return back, but the status of the lands has not been determined since then, since the archival documents have been lost.

In the early 2000s, the land on the border of the two villages was leased to a horticultural partnership for 49 years. But according to the cadastral plan, they can only be used for gardening, and not for the construction of new houses. Residents of Krasnoarmeyskoye, having learned about the development plans, began suit protest actions, demanding permission to build houses on these lands only for them.

A month ago, in another suburb of Makhachkala, Shamkhala, a rally was held to preserve school # 49. She is the only one here. The reason for the closure of the educational institution was called the long absence of a license and violation of sanitary standards.
