Apple will test the new UWB technology in Russia, which is more powerful than Bluetooth

The tests will be carried out by the State Commission for Radio Frequencies (SCRF). Its task is to find out if the use of this technology interferes with the operation of other devices. Previously, this technology was not used in Russia due to the prohibition of the SCRF (GKRCH).

“This technology was not used in Russia because its power exceeded the standards that exist for portable devices. In fact, the problem is that the technology does not fit into the regulations that exist today and which are unlikely to be changed for Apple”, - said Eldar Murtazin, an analyst of the mobile communications market, editor-in-chief of the mobile-review.com portal, in an interview with Sputnik radio.

According to him, now the company will try to prove that there are no problems with the use of this technology. After testing, the regulator will either allow the company to use this technology, which means it will have to change regulations, or the use of this technology will remain banned.

Earlier, Apple announced the blocking of Russian media applications in the Ukrainian segment of the App Store at the request of the Security Service of Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry urged not to follow the lead of the Ukrainian authorities and not block applications. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the demand of the SBU "violates the country's international obligations in the field of freedom of speech and expression".
