The number of newly diagnosed cases of infection for the first time since the end of June exceeded the psychological mark of 1000 people per day.
"In many regions, including Europe, there is an increase in the incidence of coronavirus. The same trends are observed in Moscow. At the same time, the necessary capacities have been created to fight the infection", - the operational headquarters told Interfax. The number of hospitalized patients is also growing, over the past week their daily number has increased by about 30%.
At the same time, the Moscow authorities say that the city, in comparison with the first spring outbreak, has already been able to accumulate experience in the fight against coronavirus infection, there is a significant reserve of bed capacity, which is ready to fully deploy and receive patients at any moment. All clinics are provided with the necessary medical equipment and medicines.
But in order not to end up in the hospital, Muscovites are advised not to forget about personal protective equipment, first of all, in public places and on transport. They are encouraged to maintain social distance and reduce the number of contacts, to treat older people more carefully, as the group most vulnerable to coronavirus. Employers were encouraged to revert to telecommuting whenever possible. The mayor's office recalled that about 70 thousand PCR tests for coronavirus are carried out every day in the capital.
According to the latest data, since the beginning of the pandemic, 280,408 cases of coronavirus infection have already been identified in Moscow, which is more than 2% of the city's population. The death toll has reached 5,115 people, but 241,656 patients have already recovered. Over the last day, 1,050 new cases of infection were detected.
The increase in coronavirus infection is recorded not only in Moscow, but also in Russia as a whole, the Kommersant newspaper notes. According to doctors and authorities, the increase in infection cases was expected in the conditions of the onset of autumn and the new school year. Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin drew the attention of regional leaders to the situation with the coronavirus and said that he "really would not want" the country to return to the restrictions introduced in the spring.
