The French Foreign Ministry has launched an investigation into the publication in the media of details of the talks between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The agency called the leak of internal confidential documents "unacceptable".

The French Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Macron intended "to establish a dialogue with Russia in a spirit of frankness and exactingness, aimed at resolving all issues, including those related to our security".

Let us recall that the French newspaper Le Monde, citing its own sources, wrote that Putin, in a conversation with Macron on September 14, called for attention to various versions of the incident with Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny. According to the newspaper, in an interview with Macron, Putin said that Navalny himself could have taken a military nerve poison from the Novichok group. Navalny immediately reacted to the publication, making fun of this version.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian government does not believe that France itself "leaked" the dialogue between the heads of the two countries.

- We cannot believe that the Elysee Palace deliberately, in Russian speaking, "leaked" the recording of the conversation between the two presidents to the press. This is France, France cannot do this, we do not even want to believe, - the representative of the Kremlin emphasized.
