Famous Russian actress Yulia Aug wrote and published this post along with a photo directly from the plane. He is about how the country is amicably meeting the so-called "second wave" of the pandemic:
"Sorry, cynical rzhu. The country observes the mask regime. Yesterday there was news that several stores of the Perekrestok and Magnolia chains were closed for violating the mask regime. Crocus is again ready to open a mobile hospital, hospitals in the Moscow region are switching to high alert at any time, switch to servicing the flow of covid patients.
I laugh at the way of observing the mask regime. It’s me who is flying from Platov to Pulkovo. It is mandatory to enter the airport wearing a mask. Control at the entrance. Cops are standing and checking for masks. Masked cops. That only cover the mouth. The nose is loose. That makes completely senseless the presence of a mask on the face. And so the mask is worn by 90 percent of airport workers and most of those who wear it at all. Many people immediately take off the mask altogether after the control, many wear it on their chin, like, they ask, pull on, choke on their rules. And only a very small percentage of people wear masks fully.
Note that I am not currently discussing the effectiveness of wearing a mask. I do not touch on this issue at all. I'm talking about something else. I'm talking about how the whole country knows how to follow the rules, not observing them. We collectively pretend to follow the rules. And this applies not only to masks, we drive cars this way, and counting votes in elections this way, we pay social benefits this way, and allowances for doctors for work in an epidemic, we treat, teach, build, fight corruption, punish and crucify that way. Exclusively for concepts, and not for expediency and common sense.
Great country, you say? Fake. Solid fake. Conditional compliance with rules and laws.
Double standarts. There is nothing to be surprised at. The state itself provokes people to not comply with anything. How do you like the occupancy rate of the aircraft in the conditions of the rapidly advancing second wave?
From the editor:
I can confirm everything written by the author. The flight from Moscow to Rostov and back was accompanied by the same absurd comedy: at the airport, the police demanded to wear masks, while on a plane packed to capacity, a maximum of a dozen passengers sat in masks, while all the other one and a half hundred did without any muzzles.
