He pointed out that at the beginning of the pandemic, about 50 thousand beds were prepared in the country for patients with covid, and during a period of high morbidity, this number was increased to 184 thousand.
"In the future, with a decrease in the number of patients and hospitalized, we transferred some of the infectious beds to a reserve - for admitting patients in the main profile and providing planned medical care. Currently, 129,750 beds are deployed for patients with COVID-19, of which 115,500 are occupied, which is 89%. If necessary, in the event of an increase in the incidence, additional beds will be transferred from the reserve for admitting patients with coronavirus", - Alexey Kuznetsov said to TASS.
The assistant minister noted that doctors urge Russians not to test the health care system and to comply with all COVID-19 prevention measures as much as possible, that is, wear masks and gloves, and also avoid visiting crowded places unnecessarily.
"We are working to ensure the continued availability of sufficient bed capacity. To do this, we begin to introduce reserve capacities, which were mothballed and reserved specifically for infections and were not used to provide other types of medical care, as well as facilities that were used as observators", - said Anastasia Rakova, deputy mayor of the capital for social development.
