Volodin called Navalny a "scoundrel" whom Putin saved his life

According to Volodin, who fell into a coma in Russia, Navalny was "sincerely saved by everyone - from pilots and doctors to the president". Volodin's statement on the situation with the poisoning of the politician was posted on the official website of the State Duma.

“Navalny is a shameless and scoundrel. Putin saved his life. If what happened to him was directed by the special services of Western states, then his statement fits into this logic", - said the speaker.

So Volodin reacted to Navalny's interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel. Commenting on the story of his poisoning, Navalny said:

“I affirm that Putin was behind this crime, I have no other versions of the crime. My task now is to remain a guy who is not afraid. And I'm not afraid!”, - he told reporters.

Fragments of the interview were published ahead of the EU summit, which is scheduled for October 1 and 2.

Navalny's speech in the Western press caused an extremely painful and negative reaction from the authorities in Moscow.

“And only a dishonest person can make such statements”, - Volodin said.

Russian officials have once again tried to shift responsibility for the reluctance to initiate a criminal case on the fact of Navalny's poisoning to "counteraction" by the German authorities.

“The German Bundestag is not going to create a working group with the State Duma in order to sort out what happened. Russia, despite the appeal of our bodies, has not been provided with either biomaterials or the conclusions of the doctors who examined Navalny upon admission to the hospital”, - Volodin said.

According to the speaker, this "once again proves that everything was staged by foreign countries in order to create tension in Russia at the time of summing up the election results in Belarus, to block our country and not allow us to protect the sovereignty of our allied state".

“Those who wanted to get their hands on Belarus didn’t succeed”, - the speaker emphasized.

Summing up what was said, Volodin suggested that “Navalny is working with the special services and authorities of Western countries. Works in their interests".

Earlier, the Kremlin called an absurd version about traces of the Novichok poison on Navalny's bottle. Prior to this, Russian security officials and employees of state clinics categorically asserted that they allegedly failed to identify traces of Novichok in Navalny's analyzes.

Alexey Navalny slipped into a coma on August 20 while traveling from Tomsk to Moscow. He was unconscious for over two weeks. On September 7, doctors at the Charité clinic reported that Navalny had come out of a coma and was on the mend. He remembered everything that happened to him until the moment he passed out on board the plane.
