Hundreds of people came to the House of Scientists in Nizhny Novgorod to say farewell to the editor-in-chief of the Koza.Press publication Irina Slavina, who committed suicide at the regional police building on October 2.

By the coffin a long line of people crowded, reports Interfax.

The body of the journalist is in the assembly hall, on stage, in a closed white coffin. A black and white photo of the deceased is shown on the screen nearby. People come up to the microphone to express their condolences.

The townspeople bring flowers and candles to the place of Irina Slavina's death - next to the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Nizhny Novgorod. However, the next morning it all ends up in the trash can.

Let us recall that on October 2, the journalist committed suicide after a search was conducted at her house.

“12 people entered my apartment with a gas cutter and a crowbar: officers of the TFR, police, SOBR, attesting witnesses. The husband opened the door. I, being naked, was already dressing under the supervision of a lady I did not know. A search was carried out. The lawyer was not allowed to call, ”wrote Irina Slavina shortly before the tragedy on her Facebook.

Later she left another entry on the page: "I ask you to blame the Russian Federation for my death".

It is known that in recent years the editor-in-chief of "Koza.Press" was fined for amounts beyond her power. The Investigative Committee saw no connection between the fines and the journalist's suicide.

Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova stated that the death of the journalist is “avoiding the struggle for their rights”.
