One person killed and nearly 600 injured in riots in Bishkek

The number of people injured during the protests in the Kyrgyz capital increased to 590. One person died. The clashes began after the announcement of the results of the parliamentary elections.

This is reported by Sputnik, citing data from the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.

The department says that the deceased is a citizen of 30-35 years old, of Asian appearance. The death occurred as a result of severe brain contusion. Of the 590 victims, one and a half hundred were hospitalized, 13 are in intensive care.

It should be reminded that on October 5, in the center of Bishkek, protests of supporters of parties that did not enter parliament began. One of these parties, the Social Democrats of Kurgyzstan, is headed by Sayitek Atambaev, the son of former Kyrgyz leader Almazbek Atambayev. The former president himself was released by protesters from the pre-trial detention center, where he had been since 2019.

At night, the protesters entered the White House grounds. After that there was a fire.

Today it became known that the protesters seized the administration of Bishkek and appointed a "people's mayor" - Zhooshbek Koenaliyev.

The head of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov allowed the possibility of canceling the voting results.
