“If our analysis shows that the recognition of Karabakh will allow resolving the issue on this territory, then we will take this step, if not, then we will refrain from such a decision. Now this issue is under discussion", - he said on the air of Channel One.
The head of government also added that when considering this issue, the international aspect will be taken into account. Earlier, Pashinyan stated that Armenia would make concessions if the same concessions were made by Azerbaijan. Armenia will be ready to sign an agreement with Karabakh on strategic cooperation in the field of security and defense.
The military conflict on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia took place at the end of September. It continues to this day. Martial law and mobilization were declared on the territory of both countries. Earlier, Azerbaijan reported on the crushing defeat of the Armenian military in this confrontation. The side managed to push the enemy back from all key positions. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that he sees no other way, except for the military, how to resolve the conflict over this disputed territory. Baku considers it its own, occupied by Armenia. Aliyev said that Azerbaijan has been waiting for a peaceful settlement of the conflict for almost 30 years, and the country does not intend to wait for the same amount.
The dispute over this territory is one of the oldest in the history of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations. In 1988, the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region announced that it was leaving the Azerbaijan SSR. Now this territory is partially recognized by Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
