“Once again, we firmly declare the principled position of the Republic of Artsakh regarding the inadmissibility of Turkey's participation in any form in international mediation efforts within the framework of the peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijan-Karabakh conflict,” the Novosti-Armenia agency quotes a statement from the foreign ministry.
Meanwhile, Ankara declares its readiness to cooperate with Moscow to resolve the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
On October 5, the foreign ministers of the Russian Federation, France and the United States called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to immediately stop fighting in Karabakh. The heads of the three co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group made the same address. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan repeatedly spoke on the phone with Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the situation in Karabakh, and the Russian president also called for an immediate end to hostilities.
At the same time, negotiations between Moscow and Ankara on Karabakh ended in failure. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu could not agree with the Russian side on the development of acceptable conditions for the cessation of hostilities.
On the eve, Azerbaijan announced its readiness to open humanitarian corridors for the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh. It is also reported that the humanitarian corridors will be able to use the Armenian servicemen who want to voluntarily surrender.
