According to the prosecutor's office of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District (YNAD), a local court sentenced a resident of the region to six months in a general regime colony for escaping from a coronavirus hospital in the city of Labytnangi in the west of the region.

A resident of the YNAD was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 236 of the Criminal Code (violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules, which inadvertently entailed the threat of mass disease of people), - reports the Interfax agency.

The incident itself happened at the turn of spring and summer. According to the investigation, the defendant was hospitalized on May 27. Knowing about the revealed positive test result for the coronavirus COVID-19, he escaped from the hospital through the window of the second floor, without even taking a mask with him.

Previously it was reported that on this day from the hospital escaped two patients with identified COVID-19, but nothing is known about the fate of the second fugitive. In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the daily increase in the number of cases of coronavirus continues. District Governor Dmitry Artyukhov did not rule out tougher quarantine measures, - ura.news notes.

In the June report of the human rights project the Apology of Protest on judicial practice for two months of quarantine for coronavirus, it was mentioned that by that time, at least 22 criminal cases had been initiated under Article 236 of the Criminal Code (about the potential threat of infection of other people and due to the circumstances of real infection; after real cases of infection - eight cases), - reports Mediazona.
