Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on tougher punishment for thieves in law in 2019. Article 210.1 of the Criminal Code on "occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy" provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of eight to 15 years with a possible fine of up to five million rubles. Also, this article excludes the possibility of a suspended sentence. However, until now, no sentences have been passed in Moscow under Article 210.1 of the Criminal Code.
The verdict on the 34-year-old previously convicted native of Tbilisi, Shalva Ozmanov, was the first. He was also convicted of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm with the use of weapons and for illegal transportation and carrying of firearms and ammunition, the Interfax news agency reported. We are talking about a conflict that occurred at a car wash in the summer of 2014. Then Shalva Ozmanov fired from an illegally acquired unidentified firearm with a homemade barrel at the administrator and wounded him in the thigh.
Along the family line, Shalva Ozmanov has influential thieves in law. These are the well-known Zakhary Kalashov (Shakro Molodoy), who is his grandfather, and David Ozmanov (Dato Krasnodarsky), who looks across the Krasnodar Territory, who is an uncle”, - notes mzk1.ru.
"It has been established that Ozmanov has the criminal status of the so-called thief in law and occupies the highest position in the criminal hierarchy", the Moscow prosecutor's office said. “In this regard, criminals with a lower criminal status, according to the existing unspoken norms and rules", must obey his will, instructions and orders. At the same time, he enjoys unconditional authority among persons adhering to criminal ideology and has a sphere of influence on the territory. Moscow Region and Krasnodar Territory".
