A record for the number of daily COVID-19 infections has been set in Russia

According to the operational headquarters, the previous peak in the incidence of coronavirus fell on May 11, when 11,656 infected were detected in the country. On the eve of the coronavirus in Russia, a record number of patients died - 191. However, over the past day, the number of victims of the infection has grown even more - to 201.

According to the Stopkoronavirus portal, most of all new patients were identified in Moscow. Over the week in the capital, the number of new infections increased by 53%, over 1000 patients were hospitalized per day, of which 250 are connected to mechanical ventilation. Since the beginning of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in Russia, 1,272,238 people have been infected, of which more than 22,000 have died, over a million have recovered.

Against the background of a sharp increase in the number of cases, the authorities started talking about a possible tightening of restrictive measures in certain regions. It is expected that in the capital, the issue of the next revision of the existing restrictions can be discussed on October 19.

Scientists believe that if residents take precautions, the peak incidence in Moscow will be on October 17, with a daily increase of 4895 infected. If people occasionally violate the instructions, the deadline will be shifted to October 20, while 5,221 infected people will be added daily. With frequent and complete violations, the peak will be postponed to October 24. In this case, 7296 and 7969 infected will be added daily, respectively.

In Russia, the peak of COVID-19 infection is predicted by researchers on November 8. Depending on the behavior of people, the daily increase in cases with ideal compliance with sanitary measures can be 16.8 thousand, with rare violations of the regime - 17.6 thousand, and with frequent violations - 23.3 thousand people.
