A scandal erupted in Denmark - an unknown person, posing as a candidate for the presidency of Belarus, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, took part in a confidential online meeting of the foreign policy committee of the country's parliament on October 6. He managed to deceive parliamentarians for 40 minutes.

Until recently, it seemed that the era of False Dmitriy, False Petrov and other impostors remained in the Middle Ages. Moreover, it would seem, how can one pretend to be someone else with the current level of technology, when a person is easily identified not only by fingerprints, but also by the iris of the eye? But, as it turned out, the "stick" of high technologies also has two ends. The departure of a large number of communications online due to the coronavirus pandemic has led to the fact that prankers began to easily fool even experienced politicians.

The conversation of the Danish parliamentarians with the pseudo-Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is reported on the website of the country's parliament. It notes that Svetlana Tikhanovskaya at the beginning of the meeting was unable to connect to the conference due to technical problems with the camera, so it was decided to continue the meeting without a picture and the deputies did not see who they were talking to. And when they did realize that they were communicating with another person, they ended the meeting. Later, colleagues of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya herself confirmed that she did not take part in this conversation.

Since the foreign policy committee deals with issues of national security and foreign policy of Denmark, MPs are prohibited from disclosing what was discussed at the meetings and even bringing phones and computers on them. However, the Danish parliament this time said that nothing was discussed at the online meeting that could compromise its participants: the main topic was support for the citizens of Belarus in the struggle for human rights and democracy, - notes the Dozhd TV channel.

According to the Belarusian opposition, it was Svetlana Tikhanovskaya who won the presidential elections in the country. After the elections, she was forced to leave Belarus. Over the past month, she has met with several European leaders who have denied victory in the election of long-term Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, at a meeting with Angela Merkel, said that she expects investment assistance in the event of the victory of democracy in Belarus, and at the moment - support from independent media and public organizations.
