Emomali Rahmon won presidential elections in Tajikistan with 90% of votes

The Central Election Commission of Tajikistan announced the results of the presidential elections in the republic. The head of the country since 1994, Emomali Rahmon, retained his post, gaining 90.9% of the vote. To win, candidates need to gain at least 50% of the vote.

The elections were held on October 11. The CEC recognized them as valid. According to the commission, the turnout was 85.39%. In 2013 - in the previous presidential elections - 86.64% came to the polls.
