We are talking about a preliminary project for the creation of a space complex with a transport and energy module based on a nuclear power plant within the framework of the Nuclon development work.
This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the data of the state procurement website. Last year, the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, announced the development of a nuclear space engine to send spacecraft to the distant planets of the solar system and even beyond. Earlier, he called the prospects of the tug being created "giant".
At the same time, back in 2015, information appeared that the state corporation was stopping work on a nuclear engine for space. Roscosmos denied the data. In the same year it became known that the budget of the Federal Space Program (FSP / FKP) would be cut by 400 billion rubles - up to 2 trillion rubles. Then the program was cut due to the crisis. Now, in 2020, the FKP budget has been cut again - by 150 billion rubles. According to Rogozin, this will lead to the degradation of the industry.
Meanwhile, the spending of Roscosmos itself on needs not directly related to the space program is obviously not planned to be reduced. For example, the state corporation has equipped a meeting room in its office, spending 23 million rubles on equipment. Moreover, before the end of this year in Moscow Start t Xia construction of skyscraper-rocket - a 47-story tower, the office of the state corporation - over 26 billion rubles.
