Rospotrebnadzor: Russia will reach a plateau on covid within 20 days

According to the expert, the Russians began to more often comply with disease prevention measures. She noted that part of the working population has already been transferred to remote work, and schoolchildren have begun additional holidays.

Pshenichnaya is confident that these measures will slow down the rate of occurrence of new cases of the disease, but the result cannot be seen immediately, since the coronavirus has a long incubation period. And to expect to reach a plateau, you need at least one and a half incubation periods.

Virologist Anatoly Altshtein announced the imminent exit to the plateau of the incidence of a new coronavirus infection. In his opinion, however, this should happen a little earlier - in a week. He also built his forecasts on citizens' compliance with anti-coronavirus measures.

Let us note that the infectious disease doctor Valery Beznosenko also believes that the further development of the situation will depend on how seriously Russians take the recommendations on wearing masks.

Meanwhile, the country has once again set a record for the number of cases of coronavirus per day. On October 11, it was reported that 13,634 new infections were detected the day before, which is the highest figure since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
