The Belarusian oppositionists have put forward new demands on the authorities. The resignation of the incumbent President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is not included in these requirements.

"At a time when the regime is trying to split the Belarusian society, headquarters Svetlana Tikhanovski, Valery and Victor Tsepkala Babariko Coordination Council, as well as solidarity fund BySol held "emergency working meeting", - reported the press service of the opposition coordinating council.

The parties were able to "agree on a format for joint work to achieve all popular demands". There are three points in the list of new requirements: the holding of new open elections, the investigation of the crime on the facts of violence against peaceful Belarusians and the release of political prisoners.

Let us remind you that earlier the former president of Belarus, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, stated that Lukashenko's departure from the post of head of the republic is only a matter of time. She even promised him safety if he "peacefully" leaves his post.

Lukashenko himself had previously stated that he would not surrender power in the country under any pretext, since the people had not previously elected him for this. The Belarusian leader allowed new elections in the country only after the adoption of amendments to the Constitution.

On October 10, Lukashenko met with the detained members of the coordination council in the pre-trial detention center to discuss with them, among other things, the amendment of the Constitution.
