The World Health Organization (WHO) has evaluated the effectiveness of a number of drugs used in the treatment of coronavirus infection. It turned out that such popular drugs as remdesevir, interferon, as well as hydroxychloroquine and lopinavir, practically do not affect the mortality of patients in the treatment of COVID-19.

The conclusion of the researchers is published in the Financial Times. In the work of scientists it is said that the listed drugs not only do not reduce the risk of death in covid, but also do not reduce the number of patients on ventilators.

The study used information about the treatment of 11 266 hospitalized. The work has not yet been reviewed.

Recall that remdesivir is included in clinical practice by the Russian Ministry of Health and is recommended for the treatment of infection.

Recall that a second coronavirus vaccine has been registered in the Russian Federation. The drug "EpiVacCorona" was developed by the scientific center "Vector".

According to the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev, the presence of several vaccines will be a factor that can stop the pandemic. - The more vaccines there are, the better physicians will be able to determine what is needed in a particular case and apply it in a targeted manner. Perhaps this will ultimately stop the pandemic, the scientist noted .
