The first clashes between Azerbaijani and Russian troops took place in Nagorno-Karabakh, although Russia is not officially involved in this armed conflict.

According to avia.pro, a few hours ago, the Azerbaijani armed forces occupied several settlements in the area of the Armenian, Nagorno-Karabakh and Iranian borders. At the same time, the first clash with the Russian military took place.

"According to the sources, on the presented video frames, near the end of the recording, you can see negotiations using special means of communication between Azerbaijani and Russian military personnel, whose positions were deployed under unknown circumstances just a few kilometers from the place of fierce hostilities", - the message says.

Sources claim that it has not yet reached the point of direct hostilities between servicemen from Russia and Azerbaijan.

However, the day before, when studying satellite images, the media became aware of the appearance on Armenian territory of 13 Russian MiG-29 fighters and 13 helicopters. So far, the Russian side has not confirmed information about the transfer of its army to the area. However, experts suggest that in fact, there may be a question of a tacit decision to deploy the Russian Armed Forces on the border of Armenia and the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh escalated on September 27, when the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced that it was launching a "counter-offensive operation" in response to the actions of the Armenian Armed Forces, which "shelled settlements on the contact line in Karabakh." The NKR reported that settlements, including the capital, Stepanakert, were subjected to artillery fire. Martial law and mobilization have been declared in Karabakh and Armenia. Partial mobilization has been announced in Azerbaijan, martial law has been introduced in some cities.

Military operations led to significant losses in manpower and equipment from both the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides. According to some sources, the number of military victims of the conflict, including foreign mercenaries, has already exceeded 3,000. The death toll among the peaceful population of the NKR reached 31. Against the background of the growing conflict, politicians of a number of countries suggested recognizing the independence of the NKR in order to stop the bloodshed.
