The plans of the Turkish authorities regarding the introduction of troops into Nagorno-Karabakh became known during the television speech of Fuat Oktay on the air of CNN Turk.
According to finanz.ru , the Turkish authorities are very determined. Oktay stressed that the decision to send troops will be made "without hesitation" if a request comes from Baku.
"Our President Recep Erdogan said this from the first day, Turkey does not hesitate, our President does not hesitate in this matter", - the statement says.
The war in Nagorno-Karabakh began on September 27, when the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced that it was launching a "counter-offensive operation" in response to the actions of the Armenian Armed Forces, which "shelled settlements on the contact line in Karabakh".
In the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, which is formally part of Azerbaijan but has been under the control of Armenia for the past 30 years, it was reported that settlements, including the capital, Stepanakert, were subjected to artillery fire. Martial law and mobilization have been declared in Karabakh and Armenia. Partial mobilization has been announced in Azerbaijan, martial law has been introduced in some cities.
Now there are reports from the line of fire that the fighting is going closer and closer to the border of Armenia and to the Lachin corridor, which links the country and the enclave. Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov flew to Moscow on Wednesday, where they held separate talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. However, to date, the results of the negotiations have not been made public.
For several weeks, the parties tried to negotiate and concluded a truce twice, but both times it was almost instantly violated.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the capture of first 40 settlements, and then another 22 villages and towns in the regions south of Nagorno-Karabakh, which after the first war remained under the control of the Armenian forces. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed hope for the possibility of bringing the Russian army into the conflict zone, stating that the Russian Federation, which “took anti-terrorist actions in Syria, which is quite far from Russia, because the actions of Syrian militants and terrorists posed a direct threat to its national security", now "there is a legitimate right and reason to react to this situation", since the militants are closer to the borders of Russia.
