Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has extended until November 29 the restrictions imposed on the fight against coronavirus.

The spread of COVID-19 forced the capital's authorities to keep the sanitary restrictions imposed due to the pandemic for another month.

“The situation with the coronavirus remains volatile. The first signs of improvement appear, but the risk of increased incidence cannot be ruled out. There is no need to introduce new restrictions, but the mitigation of existing measures is premature", - Kommersant quotes Sobyanin's statement.

According to the decision of the city authorities, the order issued to enterprises to transfer 30% of employees to remote work is extended until November 29. Until the same date, a check-in system will operate in nightclubs, thanks to which 1,700 people have already received warnings of possible contact with the virus.

Until November 30, the self-isolation regime for chronic patients and pensioners has been maintained, and for schoolchildren in grades 6-11, distance learning will last until November 8.

More than 1.2 million Muscovites have switched to telecommuting, according to the authorities. This is "practically everyone who could and should have done it".

According to the Stopkoronavirus portal, over the past 24 hours in Russia, COVID-19 was confirmed in 16,202 people, of which 3,670 were in Moscow. In terms of the number of deaths per day, an anti-record was set: 346 infected people died.
