The court in Transbaikalia began to consider the case of the soldier Shamsutdinov

The defendant's lawyer Ravil Tugushev told Interfax about this.

- Today there will be a selection of the jury. This procedure takes a certain amount of time, it is possible that it will take more than one day, - said the lawyer.

Later it turned out that it was not possible to collect the jury.

- Notices of work as jurors were sent to 500 people. Fifteen of them appeared in court, four were challenged for various reasons. A total of 12 people are needed. The meeting was postponed until November 19, on this day the selection of jurors will be carried out, - said Tugushev.

The term of Shamsutdinov's arrest was extended until March 16, 2021.

At the end of September, we recall that the relatives of the victims filed a lawsuit against Shamsutdinov for compensation for moral damage in the amount of 26.7 million rubles.

The tragedy took place on October 25, 2019 in the military unit No. 54160, located in the ZATO Gorny Zabaikalsky Territory. Conscript soldier Ramil Shamsutdinov killed eight and wounded two servicemen, among whom were conscripts, contract soldiers and officers. The relatives of Shamsutdinov, from his words, explained their act by bullying from his colleagues.
