The flip side of progress: Tesla cannot be stolen, but you can ruin the life of the owner

The state-of-the-art anti-theft system that Tesla manufacturers use today may very soon make the life of a motorist hell.

A funny story with a sad prospect about how the Australian Annabelle Brett mocked the hijackers of her Tesla and what came of it, was told by the popular blogger Valery Petrov.

Annabelle received a message on her smartphone that an alarm had been triggered in her car, and since the car was no longer present, the hostess turned on a special application that allows her to track her movement. It is interesting that the anti-theft system in Tesla can be unlocked using a phone or a special card, but there is no way to untie it from the owner's smartphone. Therefore, Brett called the police, and she herself also went in another car after the hijackers, and along the way she mocked them to her heart's content, either remotely reducing the speed, then turning on the sound signal, then lowering and filling the glass... Along the way, she recorded all this on video, and when the hijackers did abandon the car and set off on the run on another, she managed to fix the number of their car, and this is in addition to the fact that the Tesla Model 3 on-board cameras, which turned on when the criminals began their penetration into the car, also filmed them.

All this allowed the police to quickly detain the intruders. By the way, in the spring, another owner of Tesla Model 3 managed to lock the hijacker inside the car using his phone. Conveniently? Yes! Fun? Very!

However, if you remember what the similar automation of bank payments led to not so long ago, it will not be so funny: thousands and thousands of cases of fraud with bank cards and accounts. Wouldn't the same thing happen when a criminal thinks not so much about stealing a car equipped as Tesla is now (and this will happen very soon), but also about how to ruin the life of its owners? After connecting to the car, he will be able to do whatever he pleases with you through your smartphone. Yes, here at least remotely, like that same Australian, will knock down all the settings of the car when you rush along the track in it. Willneath to the left at 120 km per hour, and you're done! How do you like this prospect?
