New suspect in Vienna terrorist attack was detained in Austria

Employees of the Cobra special forces and agents of the federal department for the protection of the constitution and the fight against terrorism took part in the arrest of the alleged terrorist.

“One or two women were detained together with the man. During the arrest of the suspect, the special services did not open fire, according to the newspaper, he was taken by surprise", - the Dozhd TV channel reports.

The police have not yet disclosed the exact number of terrorists who organized the attack on the Austrian capital on the night of November 3.

Earlier it was reported that the shooting in Vienna began on the evening of November 2 at Schwedenplatz in Vienna, in the area where the synagogue and the Jewish center are located. Subsequently, it turned out that the attack was organized at once at six different addresses. Groups of armed terrorists advanced into the center, firing at townspeople and restaurants. As a result of the attack, at least four people were killed and 17 were injured.

Initially, the police in the area of the central Graben square managed to detain four attackers.

Until the hijackers were detained, the police asked the residents of the Austrian capital not to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary.

The police shot one of the hijackers. In it, intelligence officers recognized a 20-year-old Macedonian who had previously been sentenced to prison for trying to leave for Syria and join the ranks of the terrorist organization ISIS, banned in the Russian Federation.

Earlier, a series of terrorist attacks took place in France. The victims of the attacks were a school teacher in a suburb of Paris, a security guard and visitors to a Christian church in Nice.
