The head of the Central Bank was offered to introduce limits on online transfers from the pensioners' cards

The head of the public movement "For the Safety" Dmitry Kurdesov proposed to introduce a limit of 10 thousand rubles per day for online transfers from bank cards of pensioners. He sent his appeal to the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina, RT reports.

According to Kurdesov, such an initiative is associated with the activation of telephone fraudsters who, in the course of manipulations, find out data on bank cards of Russians. Most often, retirees fall for the trick.

“This restriction will make it impossible for a one-time large-scale theft of citizens' funds by remote means”, - said Kurdesov.

However, Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, believes that not fraudsters will be punished in this way, but pensioners who may need to transfer a larger amount.

“Why do we limit the rights of pensioners in fact, without increasing the punishment for fraudsters. At one time, like many other deputies, representatives of the legislative bodies of the constituent entities, I proposed to toughen the punishment for those criminals who commit crimes against older citizens”, - she said.

According to RT, in January-August 2020, 107.2 thousand telephone frauds were detected. This is two times more than last year.
