Russian peacekeepers headed to the area of operation in Nagorno-Karabakh

The military moved into the mission area. They will travel more than 250 km and set up observation posts on the contact line, as well as along the Lachin corridor, the Defense Ministry reports.

"A subdivision of the peacekeeping formation, which flew from the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny airfield to the Republic of Armenia, is marching to the area where the tasks of monitoring the ceasefire and hostilities in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are carried out", - Interfax cites the ministry's message.

The units flew from the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny airfield.

Let us remind that on the eve of the Russian peacekeepers began to deploy in Karabakh. At the same time, Armenia began to withdraw its troops.

On November 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed an agreement to end hostilities on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. The agreement provides for the introduction of Russian peacekeepers and the transfer of part of the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, including the city of Shushi, to Azerbaijan.

The conclusion of the peace agreement caused a wave of discontent in Armenia. A protest action began at the building of the Armenian government in Yerevan. Demonstrators broke into the building, smashed Pashinyan's office and took away state symbols, robbed his house, taking out a computer and personal belongings, and then mutilated the parliamentary meeting room, and the speaker of parliament Ararat Mirzoyan was beaten so badly that the victim had to be hospitalized.

Note, Pashinyan later said that despite the signed trilateral agreement, military operations continued in Karabakh.
